The quantum future of telescopes

The quantum future of telescopes
(2021, Faculty of Science)

The first telescopes were built more than 400 years ago, and telescopes are still used by astrophysicists to study the cosmos. But a lot has changed in science since the time of Galileo and Kepler. Now researchers at the University of Sheffield are using cutting-edge quantum physics to find ways of mapping the Universe in more detail than ever before.

I worked with quantum physicists Prof Pieter Kok and Dr Zixin Huang on this video all about the history of telescopes, and what quantum physics could improve in the future.
